Block copolymers assume a variety of ordered nano-structure depending on their compositions and temperature. The ordered structures are easily affected by flow in terms of orientation which determine the properties of the product from block copolymers and consequently the physics of flow-induced alignment of the structures need to be understood for manipulation of the direction, rate and the extent of alignment. In this work, we focus on the flow induced alignment of the hexagonally packed (HP) cylinder nano-structure of a SEBS tri-block copolymer Kraton G1652M.Isotropic samples from solvent casting were prepared for the investigations. Real time evolution of the orientation of the ylindrical structure under oscillatory shear at different frequencies and strains was captured by in-situ small angle X-ray scattering measurements. |
